IN SUPPORT OF ‘MOONSHINE CORNER,’
THEIR NEW ALBUM DUE OUT SEPTEMBER 29
ON LE PLAN RECORDINGS
Franco-American band Joon Moon is releasing their album Moonshine Corner on Le Plan Recordings September 29. Around that time starting on September 28, the Paris-based trio will come to the U.S. for a round of select tour dates that will take them to New York City, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Los Angeles and San Francisco. The full routing follows below and tickets are on-sale now.
Along with the tour dates, the band have made available a new live video featuring album cuts “Chess”
and “Help Me,”
both of which appear on Moonshine Corner.
The seven-minute long piece showcasing both songs was recorded at Cabaret Frappé, a popular summer music festival in Grenoble, France. It captures Joon Moon
in live performance of what fans can expect at their U.S. shows. View it now here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rmJuws0sdQ
Joon Moon is the Franco-American outfit of house producer/keyboardist Julien Decoret (Nouvelle Vague), drummer Raphael Chassin (Vanessa Paradis, Rufus Wainwright) and American expat and singer extraordinaire Krystle Warren (Hercules & Love Affair featured vocalist on “My Offense,” “The Light”, Martha Wainwright, Erykah Badu). The use of old sounds and recording techniques gives Joon Moon‘s music a sense of timelessness, and is the basis from which the band moves forward, mixing in more modern influences such as a sax line that could have been written by Steve Reich or some repetitive nature of song writing which espouses the codes of dance music. Their debut LP Moonshine Corner was recorded in their Montmartre, Paris studio showcasing many vintage instruments as heard on their most recent single “Tiger,” the heavily KCRW-supported track “Chess” and others that appear on the album.
